MoleMax and Derma Medical Systems
With more than 20 years of experience in dermoscopy, MoleMax Systems, a division of Macquarie Medical Systems, is dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality and efficient technologies that enable healthcare professionals to provide the highest standard of patient-centred skin cancer care. Derma Medical Systems launched the MoleMax Digital Skin Imaging System in 1997 in Sydney, Australia.
It was the first integrated system in the world for digital microscopy and macro imaging. It was a joint development with researchers at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Vienna. Developed in collaboration with dermatologists and leading clinics, it was designed specifically to meet the needs of modern dermatology practices.
Following an enthusiastic market response and extensive clinical evaluation, the platform has been continually refined and enhanced, evolving into the mature, well-engineered system available today. Today we have revolutionised the MoleMax product into a new Australian Made and Designed compact system, The MoleMax Lite. Trusted by advanced dermatology clinics and private practices in more than 70 countries, it has become a leading solution for skin imaging and lesion documentation worldwide.
The MoleMax Systems range is sold and serviced directly through our Derma Medical Systems international offices, based in California, United States and Vienna, Austria. These strategic operations allow us to provide local sales, customer support, training and technical assistance to clinics, hospitals, dermatologists and healthcare providers throughout the Americas and Europe, ensuring responsive service and a deeper understanding of the needs of the US healthcare market.

1996-MoleMax II
MoleMax II, the first digital epiluminescence system in the world, was developed in cooperation with medical faculty Department of Dermatology of the Medical University of Vienna, Austria.
1997-MoleMax II
MoleMax II was introduced internationally at the World Congress of Dermatology in Sydney becoming the worldwide accepted clinical standard.
2000-MoleMax
MoleMax I was launched as simplified all-in-one digital epiluminescence system using MoleMax technology.
2003-DermDOC
- DermDOC was introduced internationally as entry low cost plug-in all-in-one solution in digital epiluminescence system area.
- Derma Instruments was acquired by MoleMax Systems (Macquarie Medical Systems), the biomedical division of Macquarie Health Corporation based in Sydney, Australia, and it has become Derma Medical Systems.
2007-MoleMax 3
MoleMax 3 was developed as first three camera system worldwide bringing workflow optimisation to many skin cancer clinics and hospitals worldwide.
2011-MoleMax HD
MoleMax HD, the new system with a unique full HD camera and integrated body-mapping function, revolutionised dermatology practice all over the world.
2018-SkinDOC
SkinDOC, the portable micro skin imaging system (with option for macro and close up imaging by using SLR cameras) and based on the leading world-wide MoleMax HD technology was successfully introduced to skin cancer specialists.
